Bits and Pieces

Hello. Welllll, there isn't much to know about me. In other words, don't ask. Hey, but if you really want to know, one word: psychopath.. Anyways... I'm just another one of those bloggers out there, blogging about how crappy life is, etc. Pathetic, is it not? Life.

savage garden. and homosexuality.

i'm experiencing a sudden resurgence of interest in savage garden.
savage garden. the band? oh nevermind.

the duo's songs are phenomenal. i may not own any of their albums, but repeated listenings to their signature hits really gave me the impression that they would be great. one where you can listen to endlessly without getting bored. i must get my hands on their greatest hits album!

and guess what? i was listening to the radio in the car one day, and this fabulous song came up. i was instantly hooked. but then the stupid DJ didnt announce what the song was or who sang it. so later that day, i spent hours wasting my life away searching for it. nothing.

who damn knew that that fabulous song, was "to the moon and back" by them! i was listening to a few of their songs on youtube at midnight yesterday and, on a whim, decided to listen to this song i've evaded for awhile now for no particular reason.
dammit.

savage garden... which brings me to this topic: darren hayes, the lead singer, is gay.

i found it a bit disturbing when i read this comment under one of their music vids on youtube where the person said he/she(*most* probably a he) couldnt bear listening to their songs anymore after he/she found out that he was gay. what bullshit is that? you listen to their songs, you're their biggest fan... and all that is *poof!* gone just like that after you find out he's queer.

i... am... speechless.

some people are just so... so... irrational. that comment is just one of the many homophobic comments on youtube. it's just not right. for example, chris crocker, whose video "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE" garnered millions of hits and thousands of comments within hours of its uploading, had many people log on to youtube just to voice their homophobic opinion on how he - and generally all gays - should die: AIDS, a hit-and-run, a bullet to the head, even a jackhammer to the throat. unacceptable.

people, know this: i am absolutely against the prejudice, discrimination and violence against gay and lesbian people. so dont come to me, ranting about how much you hate homosexuals, about how much you want to beat them up; dont even mention the word 'fagg*t' to me. think about it. isnt it a bit unreasonable and ignorant for people to whine and complain about homosexuals, when they should be concerned about more important issues, namely child abuse, unneeded violence and your brother/sister's uncanny resemblance to the devil/satan/some evil-looking alternate-dimensional creature? it's a bit silly for folks to devote so much of themselves when it comes to the issue of homosexuality.

just leave them be. there is SO much more to a person than their sexual orientation. in fact, most homosexuals have more likeable characteristics and better personalities than those that many deem having the 'correct' sexual orientation. so, dont tell me you'd judge someone just based on their sexuality. they deserve as much respect as you and me. they deserve to live as much as you and me. they deserve everything we deserve. why's it so hard to accept that?

oh. ohhhhh. lemme guess, religion. let me just say this, if god never, in his eternity spent 'up' there, wanted homosexuals to exist, he would have killed them off already. in such circumstances, you'd have woken up one day to the headlines, "ELLEN DEGENERES, MILLIONS DIE MYSTERIOUSLY". but since that has yet to happen, i would like to conclude that god loves everyone unconditionally. and that's a fact, so shut the efff up.

According to the Gospels, Jesus did not devote
any serious time or effort denouncing either
abortion or homosexuality though he did devote
serious time and effort denouncing the rich along
with self-righteous religious hypocrites.
Maybe today's Religious Right could learn
a few things about prioritising from Jesus?
E.T.B.

here are two scenarios:
in a world where homosexuals are the minority, heterosexuals say yuck, go to hell.
in another world where heterosexuals are the minority, homosexuals go WTF.
is this how you live? just because the majority denounce and condemn the minority, you'd do the same? come on, take a stand.

btw, homosexuality is not a choice. haha, yea, he's gay one day and straight the next. i dont think you'd hear people exclaim "hey people, i'm feeling gay today!" and then become straight again whenever they feel like it. it just doesnt make sense.

nothing... nothing makes sense.

i am very passionate about issues relating to equality. aren't you?
